Code of Ethics - As a member of the Western Staffordshire Bull Terrier Society.
A). I will properly house, feed, water, and exercise dogs under my care and arrange for appropriate veterinary attention if and when required.
B). I will not allow any of my dogs to roam at large or to cause a nuisance to neighbours or those carrying out official duties.
C). I will ensure that my dogs will wear a properly tagged collar and shall be kept fully leashed or under effective control when away from home.
D). I will clean up after my dogs in public areas or anywhere my dogs are being exhibited.
E). I will agree without reservation that any veterinary surgeon performing an operation on any of my dogs which alters the natural conformation of the animal may report such operation to the Kennel Club.
F). I agree not to breed from a bitch or use a stud dog in any way which is deleterious to the bitch or the breed.
G). I agree only to sell dogs where there is a reasonable expectation of a happy and healthy life and will help with the rehoming of a dog if the initial circumstances change.
H). I will supply written details of all dietary requirements and give guidance concerning responsible ownership when placing dogs in a new home.
I). I will not sell any dog to commercial dog wholesalers, retail pet dealers or directly or indirectly allow dogs to be given as a prize or donation in a competition of any kind.
J). I will not knowingly misrepresent the characteristics of the breed nor falsely advertise dogs nor mislead any person regarding the quality of the dog.
K). I will ensure that all relevant documents are provided to the new owner when selling or transferring a dog.
L). If I breed, or allow my stud dog to be used, then it will be in the endeavour of trying to further the quality of the breed and not for the purpose of commercial interest. |
